Christian Smith(クリスチャン・スミス)はスウェーデン・ストックホルム出身のテクノ/ダンス/エレクトロニックを得意とするDJ兼アーティスト/プロデューサー。幼少期はドイツで育ち、15歳でエレクトロサウンドの世界に入るとわずか17歳でフランクフルトのビッグクラブへの出演を果たす。その後はNYに移り、当時大ブレイクしていたLime LightでJoey BeltramやJeff Millsがレジデントを努めたステージを見てテクノサウンドのインスピレーションを得た。そこからDJとしての活動を本格化し、NYの名門レーベルSatellite Recordsを通じて現在のパートナーであるJohn Selwayと出会い、プロデュース業もスタートした。1994年には、自身が設立したレーベルTonicから多くのリリースを重ね、中でもJean－Phillipe Avianceとの共作「Gold Rush」はあらゆるビッグネームたちを抑え、その年のクラブ・アンセムとなった。John Selwayとは長年にわたって数々のアーティストとのコラボやリミックスの幅を広げながらヒットトラックを生み出してきた。その多くはCarl Cox、Seven Vath、Sashaなどの世界的トップDJらにヘビープレイされるなど、その実力は本物である。またサブレーベルでは、テック・ハウスのリリースで世界中のクラブからアーティスト/DJとして高く評価されているのはもちろん、トッププロデューサーとしても絶大な信頼を得るその多彩な才能は、現在も多くのファンを魅了し続けている。
